


Contagion of Learner and Teacher Engagement
The purpose of this project is to understand the dynamics and synchronicity of language learner engagement in the language classroom. More specifically, we aim to understand how learners engage in the classrooms on an emotional, cognitive, and behavioral level, and how this relates to the engagement of other learners in the classroom.
Aims of the project
· to better understand the multidimensional and dynamic character of learner and teacher engagement as well as their interrelationships with emotions
· find out more about contagion between learner and teacher engagement and emotions and the possible mediating role of contextual factors
· examine to what extent there is contagion between the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive dimension of engagement among learners and between learners and teachers across time
